Our frames are meticulously handcrafted to be a genuine expression of one's personal style and distinct personality. We invite you to take a closer look at the people and story behind them.
The aesthetic for the collection was meticulously crafted by Blake Kuwahara, a licensed optometrist and the industry’s preeminent American eyewear designer. The introductory line includes 12 styles – with each pair undergoing an arduous process of 75+ steps and hundreds of hours, turning the employees behind the brand into an elite group of artisans, handcrafting luxury eyewear.

Each pair of ic! berlin glasses really is produced in Berlin, Germany. Our frames are luxury products, hand-finished, piece by piece. This eliminates unnecessary gaps between design, production, and distribution – no “Made in China”. At ic! berlin, all of our departments can be found under one roof at the Backfabrik (baking factory) in Berlin Mitte. This is the only way to guarantee the highest degree of quality in the long term: made in Berlin – made in Germany!
When you hold a pair of ic! berlin glasses in your hands, you can feel why all of this effort is justified: the glasses captivate you with their stability of form and their flexibility. Customized Digital Progressive Lenses
Standard progressive lenses only take into consideration the prescription that your Doctor wrote. The problem with this, is there are so many variables in the frame that you choose. Some frames sit further from your face, are extra large, have more curve or more tilt than other frames. This causes your prescription that your Doctor wrote to become skewed when you are looking through your lenses.
To get the best vision possible, your lenses need to take these variables into account. This is why we use Custom Digital Progressive lenses which not only use the best technology in surfacing a lens, but also takes every factor of a frame into account when building your lenses. This creates the sharpest, widest fields of vision in every zone of your progressive lenses.
Digital Lens
We realize that smartphones and tablets have become a part of our everyday life, however our eyes were not made to look at digital screens, or constant refocusing when looking at your phone. This is making our eyes tired by the end of the day, which has led to a majority of adults suffering from Digital Eye Strain. If you are wearing distance only glasses or not wearing glasses at all, you are exposing yourself to Digital Eye Strain.
With this rapid change in our lifestyles, we are combating Digital Eye Strain by providing lenses that help you focus when looking at your smartphone or tablet. These lenses use the latest technology in lens surfacing, to give you the clearest lens possible, while offering extra focusing power designed specifically for viewing your digital device. Lens Coatings
No eyeglass lens can give you the clarity your eyes deserve without an Anti-reflective coating (A/R coating). An A/R coating absorbs reflections that would otherwise cause glare off your lenses, giving you sub-quality vision. We only offer premium A/R lenses that include the highest quality of clarity, cleanability and toughness. Every Anti-Reflective lens that we put in your frame includes a 2 year warranty against breaking or scratching to ensure that you always have superior vision.
